Texturing or grinding is often followed by a variety of finishing steps. Surface coatings are usually used to increase protection and weather resistance, but are also applied for visual reasons.
Fine wood sanding prepares the wood surface perfectly for subsequent surface coating (e.g. painting). Depending on the application, intermediate lacquer sanding is also used to ensure a perfect lacquer finish.
With the help of Osborn solutions, we ensure ideal preparation and prepare a clean and stable substrate for various coatings.
The primer is the basis for all subsequent coatings, as it ensures strong adhesion. A primed workpiece is also easy to further process, as the natural opacity of the subsequent paint is strengthened, so there is no need for a top coat. The primer also protects the workpiece from external influences, so rust has no chance.
Once the primer is in place, it can be painted. Varnishes give the wooden plank a completely new color or make the wood shine. In addition to their design effect, varnishes form a comprehensive and protective layer around the workpiece. Varnishes are used both indoors and outdoors. If varnishes are used outdoors, they should be particularly weather-resistant.
It is particularly important to protect the natural material wood from external influences. The weather, especially moisture of any kind, gnaws aggressively at wooden components. It is therefore necessary to use the appropriate impregnation depending on the type of wood and its intended use. Chemical impregnation works by penetrating deep into the wood pores and preventing water from entering. Rotting, mildew, discoloration and mildew stains can be avoided.
Oiling also aims to increase the weather resistance of the wood. The natural appearance of the wood is emphasized and resistance to sunlight, wind and rain is created. Hardwood can generally be treated with oil as a natural protective agent. In the case of softwood, you should check whether oil is suitable for the type of wood before oiling. Oiling is recommended for outdoor areas once a year, in dry weather and not too hot or low temperatures.
