About metal processing

Workpieces made of metal are manufactured, machined and processed in many industries and trades. Various processing methods are used. These include, for example, cutting, non-cutting and connecting (joining) techniques.

Metal is processed in many sectors - in vehicle construction/automotive trade, in mechanical engineering, tool and mold making, shipbuilding, wind energy, building construction and civil engineering, but also in jewelry production or in pipeline construction.

During the manufacture of the workpieces, there may be unwanted material residues that must be removed before further processing (e.g. burrs, blue discoloration, etc.). Osborn tools help with cleaning here. Workpieces that have already been manufactured may have to be modified or reworked (e.g. remove rust/paint, separate). Or finished workpieces should literally get their "final touch" - the finishing.

At every step in metalworking and processing, Osborn tools can help complete the process quickly and efficiently.

Edge rounding

In contrast to deburring with wire, the abrasive grains embedded in the plastic fibers work against the workpiece edge with rotation and feed and round it off. Different rounding sizes can be achieved by changing the setting parameters.

Rust removal

Metal reacts with oxygen and water. Rust develops as a result of this oxidation process. It causes metal to become porous. Rust must be removed.

Paint Stripping

During paint stripping, all layers of paint on a metal surface are removed without leaving any residue.

Polishing & Satinising

Polishing tools and the corresponding solid or liquid polishing compounds, to achieve any surface from matt to high-gloss, using hand-held equipment, stationary lathes, flatbed machines or robots, for trade or industrial applications.
